Obituary

Elizabeth Ann Holman, age 85 years, a former resident of Wheaton, IL, passed peacefully into her Savior's arms at Central DuPage Hospital on August 12 following a brief illness and five year struggle with Alzheimer's. Betsy was the first baby born at Oak Park Hospital on September 4, 1928, and third child for James J. and Elizabeth McCarthy Owens.

She grew up in Oak Park and attended Oak Park and River Forest High School. She then attended Beloit College, WI (Charter Member of Kappa Alpha Theta), for two years and graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelors Degree on her second wedding anniversary with husband James L. Holman. After settling in Wheaton, IL, they had four children, Craig (Eden Prairie, MN), Bonnie Gwen (drowned at age 11 years), Tracy (Winfield, IL) and Dr. Mark (Ann Rozylowicz) formerly of Wheaton ( Overland Park, KS). She adored her grandchildren; Cole, Bonnie Elizabeth, Chance Coats; Ian, Violet, Isaac, Myrna, Titus and Alistair Holman.

Betsy is also survived by her former husband, Jim, who became a friend especially in her last months.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Dorothy Haughtigan, her brother Robert Owens and her beloved daughter Bonnie.

Betsy loved her family, the Chicago Bears, the United States of America, Wheaton Bible Church and the Lord.

A Celebration of her Life will be held on Saturday, September 13, visitation at 10:00 AM and service at 11:00 AM at Wheaton Bible Church, 27W500 North Avenue, West Chicago, IL, with Pastor Scott Murray officiating.
