Elizabeth Jean Hiles, age 91, a lifelong resident of Glen Ellyn, died peacefully at home on Thursday, May 12, 2016. She was born on March 11, 1925 in Oak Park to Robert and Elizabeth Starrett.

Bette Jean graduated in 1943 from Glenbard West High School, where she was valedictorian and prom queen. She went on to graduate from the Chicago Art Institute. She worked as a commercial fashion model and was a member of the Screen Actors Guild- SAG.

Bette Jean is survived by her husband, John D. "Jay", her son, Royce R. "Buz" Wright of Denver, CO, granddaughter, Jennifer Wright of Valpariso, IN, grandson James Wright of Huntington Beach, CA and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jim Wright in 1968, son, Johnny Hiles in 1959 and a grandson, Royce R. Wright, Jr. in 2009.

Services and interment will be held privately.
