Obituary

Eleanore Lange Perreault Unger, born November 3 rd . 1917. At age 103 she went to be with our Lord December 25 th ., 2020. She was a loving wife and best friend for over 32 years to the late Francis Perreault and following that, for almost 25 years to the late Robert M. Unger.  She was a proud mother of Lawrence (the late Jennifer) Perreault, Richard (Beverly) Perreault, Sharon (Wayne) Winkelman, and Lauren (Garth Sheriff) Perreault. They blessed her with 12 grandchildren; Lawrence Jr., Steven, David, and Shane Perreault, Cristin (Todd) Taylor, Marty (Kim) Winkelman, Ross (Melissa) Winkelman, Alison (Dr. Coby) Maxwell, Eliana and Dr. McKenna Sheriff, Matthew (Julie) and Dr. Amanda Midboe. Twenty-three great grandchildren were her pride and joy. They include Jon, Elaine, Jason, Christopher, William, Maxwell, Carson, Sydney, Emily, Sadie, Chloe', Claire, Bailey, Cameron, Philip, Kyle, Kaitlyn, Zach, Brady, Hunter, Cole, Brock, and Bryn. She is also survived by a Sister-in-law, Vivian Lange, and countless nieces and nephews whom she adored. Eleanore was a loving sister to the late Helen Wilcer, Emily McGinty, Bertha Hadar, Anna Exler, Vivian Bagus, and Leonard Lange. Through the years she has suffered the loss of many nieces and nephews who she also enjoyed spending time with.

She was a family historian who could, even at 103, recall birthdates, anniversaries, and details of her extended family.  Throughout her life family members could, without fail, open a card or receive a phone call for their life celebrations.

Ellie worked throughout her life, making airplane parts for WWII,  as an office secretary, and in later years she was a waitress for over 35 years. She was a proud American who worked as an Election Judge for 50 years. These endeavors suited her outgoing personality because she loved people. As a thrifty resale shopper nothing pleased her more than being able to gift friends and family an item she purchased JUST for them. She remembered their conversations so these small gifts were welcomed by all. This continued up until a few days before her death when she called a niece to send dolls to her grandchild.

Her personality was sweet, but with a sassy wit. When called "Little Ole Biddy" by a grandchild, she was pleased and enjoyed hearing it!

Her cooking was unsurpassed – having survived the Great Depression and WWII rationing, she could make anything into something delicious. There was no wasting of food when she cooked! Everyone always looked forward to her recipes. At the many family picnics she organized, her food reigned supreme.

She also loved word and card games. Her skill at these was witnessed by her family and Bickford residents alike. If you won a game with her, it was a small miracle! Her love of all things Chicago Bears was legendary in our family. Her knowledge of strategies and players could not be easily surpassed.

She will be missed. However, we were blessed to have her in our life and know that she will be welcomed through the gates of heaven and into the arms of our Lord.  Her reunion with Him as well as Francis and Bob will be glorious.

She taught her family to live and age well by example.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors Project. As testament to her love of sports, her parting words to all were "Go Bears"!

At this time, services will be limited to immediate family, although friends may watch a livesteam on Saturday, January 9th at 11:00 a.m. here: Eleanore Unger livestream

A memorial service, complete with a celebration of life, will be held at a later date.
