Obituary

Eleanor "Ellie" Patterson died at her home on Saturday, August 21st. Eleanor was born on May 21, 1931 in Chicago. She is survived by her husband Morrey Patterson, daughter Beth Patterson and husband David Schmitt of Evanston, son Rusty Patterson and wife Faith of South Elgin, and daughter Judy Madden and husband David of Burleson, Texas, three grandchildren: Nick Patterson and wife Jenny, Janie and Kate Madden, and three great grandchildren, Jared Mitchell, Steven Kirkwood, and Abby Patterson. Ellie is also survived by her father Theodore Beyer of Winfield. She was preceded in death by her mother Elisabeth Beyer.
Ellie graduated from Bradley University in 1953 with a degree in Fine Arts. After many years of service she retired from the Wheaton Public Library. Ellie was active in many different organizations including People's Resource, Kiwanis Reading Program, Family Service, "NOTSOS" Drama Club, DuPage Art League, Glen Ellyn-Wheaton Associates of the Art Institute of Chicago and Gamma Phi Beta.
Memorial visitation Wednesday, August 25th from 4-9p.m.at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 North Main Street, Wheaton, Il. A private burial will take place on Thursday with the Reverend JoAnne Chase officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
Ellie left this world the way she lived everyday with peace, grace, love, and laughter.
