Eleanor L. Lund, age 92, a resident of Wheaton since 1964, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 5. She was born April 2, 1924 in Roseland in Chicago to Ernest and Ella Person.
Eleanor grew up in the Englewood neighborhood. She graduated Engelewood High School and from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. She married Richard A. Lund on July 15, 1961. She worked at Christian Life Magazine and later at Tyndale House Publishing and Prairie State Legal Services.
Eleanor was passionate about helping disabled children and worked closely with Parents Alliance to promote mainstreaming of disabled children to regular school classes. She had a passion for helping people. She was a member of Evangel Baptist Church of Wheaton since 1965.
She is survived by her husband, Richard, two children, Julie Lund of Wheaton and James (Kimberley) Lund of Aurora, two grandchildren, David and Lillian.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings, Erna, Mildred, Roger, and George.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 12, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 13, at 1:30 p.m. at Evangel Baptist Church, 1900 Manchester Road, in Wheaton, IL. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery, in Wheaton, IL.
