Eleanor V. Hedlund, age 88, a resident of Wheaton for 13 years and formerly of Mt. Prospect for many years, died Friday, April 8, at Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva. She was born March 24, 1917 in Chicago.
She worked as a registered nurse for thirty years. She was a member for many years at Arlington Heights Evangelical Free Church, and more recently attended College Church in Wheaton. She was a wonderful pianist, loved to golf and to bowl. She greatly loved and enjoyed people. She had lots of friends and liked to go out to eat. Her first love was the Lord, and her faith and her family were very important to her.
She is survived by her four children, David (Eva-Britt) of Newnan, GA, Donald of Buffalo Grove, Dianne (Terry) Hanshaw of Wheaton, and Douglas (Laurie) of Winfield; twelve grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Fred; and her brothers, Paul and Robert.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 12, at 2:00 P.M. at College Church, 332 E. Seminary Ave., in Wheaton. Interment is private at Memorial Park in Skokie.
