Eleanor A. Haberkorn, age 80, a resident of Bartlett, and formerly of Chicago and Westchester, died Friday, April 29, at Clare Oaks in Bartlett, Illinois. She was born September 27, 1935 in Chicago to Albert and Elizabeth Turner.
Ella graduated from Kelvin Park High School and Northern Illinois University. She worked as a Chicago Public School teacher. Her faith was important to her and she was active at St. Giles parish in Oak Park, where she helped with the homeless. She was always a helpful person and she loved to bake.
She is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Werner, her sister, Lorraine Kenton, and her nephew and niece, James Kenton and Suzanne Kustusch.
Preceding her in death was her son, Konrad, and her parents.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 4, from 4 to 8 pm at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton. A Mass will be held on Thursday, May 5, at 10:30 am at the Chapel at Clare Oaks Senior Living, 801 Carillon Dr.,Bartlett, IL 60103. Friends may visit with the family from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the Mass. Interment will be private at All Saints Cemetery.
