Eleanor Catherine Carlson, age 93, a resident of Carol Stream, and formerly of Green Valley, AZ for 15 years and Wheaton for 50 years, died Tuesday, March 6 at the Johnson Healthcare Center at Windsor Park Manor in Carol Stream. She was born on March 21, 1913 in West Chicago to Charles and Nellie Case.

Eleanor married John Wesley Carlson on April 17, 1936 in Wheaton. She attended Wheaton College and graduated from Rosary College as an English major. For many years she worked at Towne Gift Shop in Wheaton. She was known for her abilities in cooking, baking, sewing and hospitality. She enjoyed reading and volunteered her time in many activities.

She and her husband Wes were long time members of Wheaton Bible Church and were charter members of the Green Valley Evangelical Free Church.

She is survived by six children, E. Patricia (Vern) Geurkink of Naperville, J. Robert (April) Carlson of West Chicago, David (Linda) Carlson of Essex, MA, Betty Ganota of Centreville, OH, William Carlson of Wheaton, and Susan (Geoffrey) Cronk of Bailey's Harbor, WI; 12 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband John Wesley Carlson on October 15, 1999 as well as an infant son, Kenneth Norman, her parents and one brother, Charles Elbert Case.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 8 from 5-8 P.M. at Wheaton Bible Church, Main and Seminary St. in Wheaton. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 9 at 2:00 P.M. at Windsor Park Manor, 124 Windsor Park Dr. at North Ave., (just west of Gary Ave.) in Carol Stream. Interment will be private at Wheaton Cemetery.
