Rev. Eldon Gene Schroeder's Obituary
Rev. Eldon Gene Schroeder, age 86, a resident of East Dundee, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Elgin, IL. He was born September 29, 1926 in Lorraine, Kansas.
Eldon was a North American Baptist Conference pastor for 38 years, serving in Texas, Iowa, California, and Illinois. Upon retirement in 1991 Eldon served as a North American Baptist Conference area minister in Wisconsin and Illinois for five years.
Eldon is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ramona; their three children, Steven (Tina) of Palm Desert, CA, Sharon (Harry) of Sioux Falls, SD, and Susan (Dale) Smith of Seattle, WA; a brother, Les (Denise) of Davis, CA; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 12, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. at Fox Valley Church, 37W073 Huntley Road, in West Dundee, IL, where a funeral service will be held on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Lorraine, KS where he was born, raised, married and ordained.
Memorials may be directed to the Schroeder Camper Scholarship Fund at Village Creek Bible Camp, 1588 Drake Road, Lansing, Iowa 52151.
