Elaine V. Johnson, age 85, a resident of Windsor Park Manor in Carol Stream, and formerly of Dolton, died, Wednesday, October 20, at the Johnson Medical Center at Windsor Park. She was born February 8, 1919 in Chicago.
Elaine worked for United States Steel in Chicago as an Accountant for many years. She flew each week with the payroll to Alaska for the workers on the Al-Can highway. She was a 50 year member of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wheaton. She loved animals and supported many animal causes.
She is survived by her daughter, Lorrie Leahigh of Wheaton; two grandsons, Matthew, also of Wheaton, and Nathan of Boston; two sister-in-laws, Lois (Joe) Reichel of Indiana, and Dorothy Johnson of Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ferman Lynn; and her second husband, Robert Johnson.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 24, from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton, 715 N. Carlton Ave., Wheaton, IL 60187. Interment will be private at Cedar Park Cemetery in Calumet Park.
