Ekaterina A. Gorbenko, age 87, a resident of West Chicago, IL, died Monday, June 3, 2019, at home. She was born December 8, 1931 in Russia.

Ekaterina was the youngest of twelve born in the former USSR during the great depression. She lost her mother at the age of twelve and shortly after became an orphan, living with her older brother's family. She had to learn at a young age how to take care of herself but barely ever complained to anyone. She loved to make people laugh and did so with a straight face so that it was hard to know when she was being serious or when she was joking. Through the grace of God and His mercy, we are so glad she came to live with family in the United States and to be saved. May you rest in peace, our beloved mother and grandmother, until we meet again in heaven.

Ekaterina's private interment will be held at River Hills Memorial Park in Batavia, Illinois.
