Eileen D. Brooks, age 83, a former resident of Colony Park in Carol Stream, died Monday, September 8, at Lexington Health Care Center in Bloomingdale. She was born on January 18, 1925 in Wednesbury, England to Ernest and Florence Garbett.

Eileen married Francis G. Brooks on August 16, 1945 in Wednesbury, England. She was a member of the Daughters of the British Empire and enjoyed music and outings with her Colony Park friends.

She is survived by five children, Malcolm (Marcia) Brooks, Terrence (Deborah) Brooks, Patricia Heinz, Marie Brooks, Jane (Stewart) Carr, her grandchildren, Matthew, Derek, and Ryan Brooks, Stacy (Shane) Skillin, Kathleen (Hossein) Montez, and Jennifer and Jason Heinz, and great-grandchildren, Savannah and Kayle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Brooks, her parents, one brother, Malcolm Garbett, and one grandchild, John Paul Brooks.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 11 at 11:00 A.M. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 until the time of service. Entombment will follow at Windridge Cemetery in Cary, Illinois.
