Edwin Mason Gordon Webb, age 90, a resident of Naperville and formerly of Wheaton, died Wednesday, September 9 at Tabor Hills Care Center. He was born on August 14, 1919 in Waterloo, Iowa.
For over 40 years Ed and his wife Frances, owned Webb Recording Company on Dearborn St. in Chicago until retiring in 1987. Together they volunteered for Pacific Garden Mission, working on the "Unshackled" radio program for over 55 years. He was a member of the Wheaton Evangelical Free Church. He also was a member of Acoustical Society of Am. and Audio Engineering Society, Amateur Radio Operator Charter Member, Quarter Century Wireless Association, Old Timer's Club, AFTRA National Union, and AF of M - Local 10/208.
He is survived by his step-son, Ladd J. (Mary Ann) Parsons of Warminster, PA, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Frances Genevieve Webb in 2006.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 12, from 5 to 6 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St, Wheaton, where a funeral service will follow at 6 pm. Interment will be held in private at Phelps Cemetery, in Phelps, Wisconsin.
