Edwin J. "Ed" LaPage, age 71, a resident of Wheaton, IL, died October 26, 2016, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Illinois. He was born May 2, 1945 in Chicago, IL.

Edwin is survived by his wife, Mary Kane-LaPage of Wheaton; his daughter Jacqueline Wysong of Lake in the Hills; Siblings Jean Larson (Paul) of Hudson, FL, Lois Anderson of Brainard, MN, Linda Hutchinson (Greg) of Mt. Morris, IL, Laura Scroppo (Sam) of Lombard, IL, Cathy LaPage of Montgomery, IL, Carmel LaPage of Lake Geneva, WI, Robert LaPage (Janie) of Mt. Morris, IL, Dave LaPage of West Chicago, IL.

Ed was a loving grandfather to 5 grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Zachary Wysong of Lake in the Hills, Tyler and Ashley Klingberg of Yorkville, IL, and Skylar Sturdevant of Warrenville, IL.

At the young age of 71 years old "Ed" has returned to his Heavenly Father to join those who have preceded him in death, his father Archie LaPage and mother Stadtler LaPage, brothers Jack LaPage, Joseph LaPage, stepson Aaron Sturdevant and his soul brother Robert Tavernier.

His love of sports (golf, softball are a few) left an impression on many people who will miss him beyond words. He was a big brother, the eldest of his many siblings. He was a father who was always ready to fix any problem. As a husband he made sure his big shoulders carried the heavy load as he protected and was given the nickname "Gentle Giant."
