Edward G. Serwach, age 67, a resident of St. Charles, IL, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023.  He was born May 4, 1955 in Chicago, IL to Edward S. & Bernice Serwach.

Ed was raised in Winfield, attended St. John the Baptist Catholic School and graduated from West Chicago High School. He excelled in auto mechanics, which complimented his lifelong love of cars. At a young age, he was the head mechanic at JC Penney in Woodfield,  followed by a co-ownership of an auto body business.  He enjoyed outfitting and racing cars in local demolition derbies. His prized possession was the restored Cutlass 442 he rebuilt. He taught his sisters how to change the oil and maintain cars. Ed was quick to respond to a needed tow or repair and was always on the road when it snowed to plow for family and friends. During his 3 decade career at DuPage County Government Complex in Facility Management he was a trusted colleague and gained many friendships with coworkers.
Ed will be remembered for his generosity, quick wit, and fun loving approach to life.

He is survived by his wife of 9 years, Christine Wegner; his siblings John Serwach, Janet (Vince) Morris, Geralyn (Karen Dillon) Serwach, & Valerie (Ken) Bruggeman; his nieces & nephews: Matthew (Susan) Morris, Michael (Emily) Morris, Alexandra (fiancé Zach Harmeyer) Morris, & Samantha Morris; Megan Bruggeman & Jonathan (Elizabeth) Bruggeman. Also survived by his canine companions Kody & Stella.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
