Edward J. Long, age 88, a resident of Yorba Linda, CA, and formerly of Carol Stream, died Wednesday, September 5, at Yorba Linda Senior Care Center. He was born March 11, 1919 in Chicago, IL.
During World War II Ed was a Secretary in the Navy and stationed in the Naval offices in Chicago. He was a field representative for Moody Bible Institute for more than 14 years in the state of California where he lived at the time. During retirement he attended the Wheaton Wesleyan Church.
He is survived by his five children, Nancy (Ronald) Ericksen of Black Mountain, NC, Judy Long of Yorba Linda, CA, Carolyn Long of Lake Elsinore, CA, Gail (Terry) Kramer of Glen Ellyn, and Bob (Lori) Long of Yorba Linda, CA; eight grandchildren, Chad and Meagen, Angela, Aaron and Drew, and Amber, Brittney, and Cody; and one great-granddaughter, Sophia.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Ann Long.
A visitation will be held on Monday, September 10, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of a service at 11:00 A.M. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton. Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery in Hillside.
