Obituary

Edward A. Arlington, age 63, a resident of Wheaton, IL, died June 1, 2019. He was born April 14, 1956 in Chicago, IL.

"I've always disliked the standard issue obituary that can, in some instances, drill down to reveal personality traits. I was born in Loretto hospital and grew up in a Norman Rockwell-like suburban setting."

Raised and lived in Wheaton (Norman Rockwell-like suburban setting). Ed played hockey, baseball, and golf which influenced his love for sports. He dared to be a White Sox fan in DuPage County, but his love for the Chicago Blackhawks was a lifelong passion; hence creating his happy place which was his office that is filled with Blackhawks memorabilia and his own hockey memories. Even the pizza delivery man thoroughly enjoyed it as well – "Dude, I love that room."

Family was his number one. Nothing could make him happier than spending time with the people he loved the most. He lived by and passed down the motto, "Tell the truth and all you have to remember is your name". Everyone that knew Ed expected honesty when spoken to, along with love and compassion that was unconditional. He fought his fight with dignity and grace and left all of us an everlasting impression which is a great example to live by.

Ed treasured each relationship with both friends and family whole heartedly. He had an amazing group of lifelong friends that supported him through his battle which included "coaches' meetings" at Arrowhead. He loved a good drink and the "Special Ed" was named for him at Arrowhead. He would want us to laugh and smile when we think of him, which will be often.

"Ok it's time to say goodbye" - Ed

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Kristin. His daughters Ashley (Chris) Johnson, Blair Arlington and Rachel Arlington and granddaughter Kallie.
