Edna M. Zumer, age 56, a resident of Sugar Grove, IL, passed on Saturday, February 29, 2020, at home in Sugar Grove.  She was born August 10, 1963 in Chicago to Rosendo and Ramona Miranda.

Edna lived in Puerto Rico for some of her childhood.  She graduated from Maine East High School in Park Ridge in 1981.  She worked at Butler Manufacturing where she met many friends and her first husband, Jay Hebert.  They had a daughter, Alyssa. They decided to live in a warmer climate so they packed up and moved to Arizona. When Jay had a fatal accident, Edna moved back to the Chicago area where she met and married Mark Zumer and they lived in Geneva, IL. She graduated from the Illinois College of Nursing and worked at Advocate Healthcare in Aurora.

Edna was loved by everyone who knew her for her kind heart and beautiful soul. She enjoyed water sports, especially sailing Lake Michigan.  She also enjoyed travel and shopping.

She is survived by her husband, Mark Zumer; daughter, Alyssa Hebert; her siblings, Louis (Ruth) Miranda, Rosie Miranda, Ida (Bob) Hanahan, Lydia Miranda, Peter (Yolanda) Miranda, Carlos (Teresa) Miranda, Juan Antonio (Lisa) Miranda; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jay Hebert, and her siblings, Rosendo Jr. Miranda, Hector Miranda, Jorge Miranda, Sally Miranda and Ramona Finkel.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2020 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home followed by a memorial service at 7:00 p.m.
