Edith
Johnson
March 20, 1933 – July 6, 2019
Edith (Kuehn) Johnson, 86, a resident of Chicago, IL, died at Artis Senior Living of Elmhurst on July 6, 2019. She was born on March 20, 1933 in Chicago, IL.
Edith dedicated her life to her family, raising her three children in Lombard, Illinois. As a young mother of three, she kept her children busy with frequent trips to the YMCA for swim classes and other activities. She and her family spent many summer vacations in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. During those same years, she and her husband enjoyed dance classes with friends in suburban Chicago and tennis with family and friends. Before her illness, she played bridge monthly with friends from her childhood and early adult life, and she played tennis twice weekly to stay active and to remain in touch with her Chicago friends. She was known as the neighborhood mom, and volunteered her time as the school art and picture lady. She will be remembered for her bubbly personality and positive demeanor.
She is survived by her husband, Willard Johnson of Chicago; by her son Eric (Bettina), son Kurt (Michelle), daughter Kristin (Louis); her sister Ruth (Curry); and her grandchildren Adam, Sarah, Zachary, Victor, Kyle and Derek.
She was preceded in death by her father Victor Kuehn, mother Greta, brother John and brother Glenn.
