Edith Mary Gladstone, age 103, of Windsor Park Manor in Carol Stream, IL, died Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at home. She was born April 18, 1911 in Greenwich, CT. She has gone home to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Gordon Gladstone. She was the mother of Gordon (Julie, nee Egeland) Gladstone of Schaumburg, IL, grandmother of Bill (Megan) and Jon (Michelle) and five great grandsons, Jacob, Nathan, Levi, Cole and Chase. She grew up in Byram, CT. She was executive secretary to the president of Beech-Nut Life Savers in Port Chester, NY. After she married, she lived in Port Chester, Harrison and Rye NY. She returned to the work force at various times to the insurance industry, R,B&W Nuts and Bolts as secretary to the V.P. of accounting and then a small accounting firm in Rye. She moved to Ormond Beach, Florida for 20 years before moving to Windsor Park Retirement Community in Carol Stream, IL. She attended the Wheaton Evangelical Free Church. A visitation will be held at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St, in Wheaton, IL at 10:00 am on July 7, with the service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private at a later date at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, NY.
