Obituary
Edgar Warner Bolles, 79, of 520 S. Greenfield, passed away on August 27, 2004 in the Odyssey Hospice Center, Mesa, Arizona.
He was born April 30, 1925 in Fairdale, Pennsylvania to Lee Roe and Ethel D. (Rykert) Bolles. On December 21, 1948 he married Darlene Barker, daughter of Theron and Ella (Helleso) Barker of Pierceton, Indiana. He was a 1949 graduate of Taylor University, Upland, IN.
Ed and Darlene spent the first years of their married lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan where Ed worked as an industrial advertising and marketing manager. In 1962, they moved to Wheaton, Illinois where he continued to work in advertising and marketing. He was a member of the Wheaton Evangelical Free Church and he was an elder and served on many boards. After 39 years of marriage, Darlene passed away.
In 1989, he married Lucille (Warner) Bolles who survives. In 1998, Ed and Lucille moved to Mesa, Arizona . After moving to Arizona, he continued his interest in stamp collecting and enjoyed working many hours on and adding to his collection.
Surviving are a son, David (and wife Barbara), Warsaw, IN; a daughter, Mrs. David (Nancy) McDowell, Bend, OR; four grandchildren, Jonathan and wife (Shaure) Bolles, Bloomington, IL; Melissa Bolles, Nashville, TN; Erika McDowell, Portland, OR; and Kristina McDowell, Bend OR. In addition, there is one great-grandchild, Olivia Bolles. His sister, Esther, preceded him in death.
Step children surviving include Dennis and Jeannie Warner, Antioch, IL; Susan and Larry Johnston, Elk Grove Village, IL; Lois and Paul Watkins, McHenry, IL; Luanne and Tony Gonzales, San Francisco, CA. There are 14 step grandchildren, seven spouses and six step great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held September 25, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Wheaton Evangelical Free Church, Wheaton, IL with Ivan York officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery, Oak Brook, IL with Bruce Love officiating.
Memorials may be directed to Taylor University, Upland, IN; Salem Christian School or Humboldt Christian School both in Chicago, IL.
