Earl C. Unbehaun, age 97, a 59 year resident of Wheaton, IL, died Friday, January 15, 2021. He was born December 17, 1923 in Richland Center, Wisconsin.

He grew up on a farm in Richland Center. After graduating from high school, he joined the US Army Air Corps. He served in Italy during WWII. After the war he began working in the telecom industry. He met Camille Kopp in York, PA and they were married on September 5, 1953. They moved to Wheaton in 1962 where he worked for GTE Automatic Electric. He worked there for 40 years.

He kept busy in retirement, fixing computers and building furniture. He and Camille enjoyed travel and spending time with their grandchildren.

He is survived by five children, Fred (Georgie) Unbehaun of St. Charles, Ruth (Chris) Jones of Los Vegas, David Unbehaun of Bolingbrook, Ellen (Neil) Normando of Wheaton, and Mary Alice (John Hill) Alachik of Wheaton; seven grandchildren, Joshua, Heather, and Justin Unbehaun, Kate, and Paul Jones, Mary and Kenneth Drendel and Hana Alachik; and four great-grandchildren, Jaden, Kendrick, Isabella and Kayla.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Camille, five sisters and two brothers and his parents.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2021 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois.
