Obituary

Earl E. Seck, age 88, a former resident of Deerfield Beach, Florida went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 13, 2014, at Alden Valley Ridge in Bloomingdale, Illinois. He was born July 14, 1925 in Minneapolis, MN.

Earl grew up in Virginia, MN and joined the U.S. Navy as a teenager. He married his high school sweetheart, Cynthia Beste on February 27, 1945, while serving in the Navy. During WWII he served on the U.S.S. Boreas, a supply ship in the Pacific. After the war they settled in Virginia, MN where their three children were born. He studied at the University of Minnesota and later became a civil engineer, working both in Minneapolis and Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

He was always an active member of his church, where he served as deacon, youth leader, Boy Scout Leader and participated in Evangelism Explosion. He loved to play the trombone and assembled model ships. He will be missed for his kindness and sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia, three children, Jim (Linda) Seck, Ron (Jeannie) Seck and Linda (Jonathan) Krier, eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He is also survived by his brother, Richard (Sally) Seck and sister, Florence Carroll.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Anna Seck and his sister, Lou Ruby.

A visitation will be held on Monday, February 17, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton, where a service will follow at 7:00 P.M. Interment will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
