Obituary

Earl B. Kraiss, age 100, resident of Elk Grove Village since 1954, died August 28 at home. He was born in Chicago on December 28, 1914 to Gottlieb and Theresa Kraiss.

Mr. Kraiss worked at General Motors and Fields Cadillac for over 30 years after serving in the Navy during WWII as an aviation metalsmith at Great Lakes and Pearl Harbor naval bases. He married Mary Harwood in 1939 and they had 62 great years together before her passing.

Earl was a very generous and caring man, always quick to help those in need. He loved his family and the Lord and was active in church life at Elk Grove Baptist Church and formerly Mont Clare Gospel Church in Chicago.

He is survived by his two children, Gary P. (Lesa) Kraiss of Elk Grove Village and Lynette (Duane) Millbrandt of South Carolina, three grandchildren, Tyler R. and Gary P. Kraiss and Daniel C. Millbrandt, and one brother, David Kraiss. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, a grandson, David M. Millbrandt and five siblings, Stephen, Gottlieb, Fred, Edwin and Bernice (Greve).

A visitation and celebration of life will be held on Thursday, September 3, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Elk Grove Baptist Church , 801 Beisner Rd., Elk Grove Village, IL where a service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be held on Friday, September 4 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst, Illinois.
