Douglas W. Scott, Age 70, a resident of Wheaton, Illinois, went to be with the Lord on April 29, 2017. He was born May 22, 1946 in Chicago to Douglas and Sarah "Sue" Scott the second of six children. He attended Kings College in New York and received his degree from Wheaton College and his Masters from Washington University in St. Louis, which prepared him for his inner city teaching job in New Jersey after which he entered the business world.
His love for God and God's word were at the core of his life. He and his brother, Richard, started the Wheaton Bible Church Career Group Bible Study. Many lives were influenced and lifelong friendships began as a result of this ministry of praise and fellowship.
Doug loved to participate, and in later years watch a variety of sports, basketball being his favorite. Something else he enjoyed was belting out a hymn in his baritone voice. He loved to laugh and was quite a jokester, he liked to use his wit and was known to be a wordsmith.
He was uncle Doug to 6 nieces and 4 nephews and great uncle Doug to 4 nieces and 2 nephews. He has a special place in each of their hearts.
He is survived by his three sisters, Sandra Scott, Laurelee (Peter) Pearson, and Cherry (Charles) West. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Darolyn (David) Christiansen and brother, Richard (Marilyn) Scott.
