Obituary

Douglas H. Scott, age 86, a longtime resident of Wheaton, died at home on Friday, October 8. He was born on January 16, 1918 in Stewart Valley, Saskatchewan, Canada to William and Cora Scott.

He was a graduate of Wheaton College, where he also earned two masters degrees in Theology. He also received a Th.M. from Northern Baptist Seminary in Lombard. For many years he operated a Real Estate Brokerage and Investment Firm in Wheaton. At age 62 he fulfilled his lifelong dream and became a private pilot. He loved to travel and traveled around the world three times.

He was a longtime member of the Wheaton Bible Church, the Bible Memory Association, and Christian Business Men's Committee. He had a heart for evangelism and as a young man pastored a church in Canada. Throughout his life he supported Christian ministries and had an active ongoing prayer ministry.

Doug is survived by his wife of 60 years Sarah "Sue," six children, Douglas W. Scott of Wheaton, Richard (Marilyn) Scott of Carol Stream, Darolyn (David) Christiansen of Wheaton, Sandra Scott of Wheaton, Laura (Peter) Pearson of Woodstock, CT, and Cherry Golter of Wheaton, ten grandchildren, one sister, Barbara Erickson and two brothers, Bruce (Ruby) Scott and Al (Audrey) Scott, and a sister-in-law Edna Scott.

He was preceded in death by his older brother, Roger Scott.

A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 12, from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton.
