Douglas Yee Lam, age 60, a resident of Bolingbrook, went to be with the Lord suddenly on Friday, July 21, 2017.  He was born on March 24, 1957 in Chicago to Ton and Kam Hang Woo Lam.

Doug grew up in Chinatown and graduated from Lane Technical High School.  He then earned a degree in accounting from Bradley University in Peoria where he met Tamara Rudolph through Intervarsity Christian Fellowship. They were married on July 12, 1980.  He worked as a C.P.A. for Caterpillar and other companies.  His work eventually moved him back to the Chicago area 17 years ago.  He was a dedicated, hardworking employee and currently worked for Plymouth Tube Company in Warrenville.

His wife and four children were his primary focus in life.  He was an active member of College Church in Wheaton where he led a small group.

He is survived by his wife, Tamara Lam, four children, Bethany Lam of Chapel Hill, NC, Kristin Lam of Chicago, Jason (Jennifer) Lam of Madison, WI and Melissa (Josh) Love of Chicago, his father Ton Lam, two siblings, May (Cameron) Soo Hoo and Terry Lam, and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Kam Hang Woo Lam.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 30, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 31, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at College Church, Washington and Seminary St. in Wheaton. Interment will follow at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Stickney, Illinois.
