Melvin Doug Dykema, age 78, a resident of Glen Ellyn, IL, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024.  He was born November 21, 1945 in Chicago, IL to Melvin E. & Louise Dykema.

Doug was the sales manager at Van Dahm Lincoln Mercury for many years and made many friends in the Oak Lawn area. He was very active in the Lincoln Continental owners club with several prize winning antique cars. Doug was a member of Emmanuel Reformed Church in Roseland, Moody Church in Chicago, and more recently College Church in Wheaton.

He is survived by his sisters Nancy (the late Robert) Asmus and Barbara "Bobbie" (Gordon) Bolt; numerous nieces & nephews; and devoted friend Richard Wilson.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL 60187. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at College Church, 332 E. Seminary Ave., Wheaton, IL 60187 (Special prelude by Scott Griffin to begin at 9:30 a.m.) The service will be livestreamed through this link: Funeral Service for Doug Dykema . Burial will be held at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois.
