Dorothy M. Rupe, age 90, a resident of Lexington Square in Lombard, IL, entered eternal life on Monday, May 23, 2022. She was born October 25, 1931 in Chicago to Clement and Alice Verbillion.

Dorothy grew up in Chicago and graduated from Notre Dame High School and attended DePaul University. She married Martin Rupe on June 8, 1957. They lived in Oak Park for 40 years and then moved to Wheaton, IL. After her children were raised she worked for a number of organizations including the Illinois State Medical Society.

The most important part of her life was family. She enjoyed travel and playing bridge. Her faith and her church were always a priority in her life. She was known as an encourager to all who know her.

She is survived by her children, Terri (Mark) Steinsdoerfer of Tucson, Arizona, Becky (Ed) Rubio of Oak Park, Illinois, Bernard Rupe of Palatine, Illinois, and Brian Rupe of Oak Park, Illinois, four grandchildren, Greg (Melissa) Steinsdoerfer and Megan Steinsdoerfer, Eric (Naomi) Rubio and Paul Rubio, three great-grandchildren, Ava, Emma and Micah Steinsdoerfer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin in 2002, her sister, June Verbillion.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Lombard Bible Church, 111 S. Park Ave., Lombard, IL, followed by a Celebration of Life at 5:00 p.m. Private interment will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
