Dorothy J. Reed, age 103, a longtime resident of Wheaton, Illinois, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023, at Alden Estates in Naperville, Illinois.  She was born October 19, 1919 to John & Grace Baker.

Dorothy was a very generous, helpful, kind and outgoing person. Some of her hobbies included shopping, reading, traveling & gardening. She was known for her exceptionally good handwriting. Dorothy worked for Hitchcock Publishing for 24 years. She began her career at Hitchcock in 1961 as a clerk in the Circulation Department. She was promoted to Assistant Circulation manager in 1968 and appointed Associate Circulation Director in 1981. She was a faithful member of Gary United Methodist Church in Wheaton for many years.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Judith Reed of Malvern, AR; nephew David Baker; numerous grandchildren & great-grandchildren; and her good friend Stephen Vescelus.

She was preceded in death by her husband John "Bud"; her sons Robert & Richard Reed; her sister Lou Winglewich & her brother Bob Baker; and her nephew John Baker.

Services will be private.
