Dorothy O'Dea's Obituary
Dorothy O'Dea, nee Jordan, age 79, a resident of Wheaton, IL, died Friday, April 20, 2012, at home. She was born April 18, 1933 in New York, NY.
She poured herself into her children and grandchildren. She loved her Bible Study and the women in the group. She was an avid gardner, golfer, shopper and chef. She had an unending zeal for life and a love for the Lord.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Michael "Joe" O'Dea; her children, Michael (Teri) O'Dea of Tucson, AZ, Karen (Bryan) Wilkerson of Bedford, MA, Eileen (Steve) Allingham of Wheaton, IL, Dorothy (Curt) Parrish of Hobart, IN, and Peggy (Joe) Wright of Tallahassee, FL.; 12 grandchildren, Jordan, Michael, Kelly (Isom), Brendan (Ellen), Mark, Daniel, Bryan, Kevin, Katie, Thomas, Danny and Megan; and a great-granddaughter, Lanie.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Patrick Jordan; and her sister, Geraldine Moynihan.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton, IL. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthew United Church of Christ, 1420 South Gables Blvd., in Wheaton, IL. Interment will be private.
