A memorial service for Dorothy B. Huffman (nee Bricker) age 98, of Windsor Park Manor, Carol Stream, formerly of Wheaton for 44 years, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 8, 2012 at Windsor Park Manor. Born October 21, 1913 at Yale Michigan, she died, Sunday, June 3, 2012.

Mrs. Huffman received her Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Boston University. Joining her husband in Seminary, she later completed her Master of Arts in Religious Education. As the wife of Dr. John A. Huffman, she served the churches he pastored in Boston and Cambridge, MA and was likewise involved with his Seminary Presidency in hosting many social events and in the creation of The Flying Seminars to the Holy Land.

She book-ended her child-raising years with teaching in the public schools of Michigan, Illinois and in the private Miami Shores Country Day School. After her husband's serving in associate pastorates during semi-retirement, the last ten years in The First Presbyterian Church of Glen Ellyn, they officially retired in their mid-eighties to Windsor Park Manor Retirement Home.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of almost 69 years and by her granddaughter Suzanne Huffman. Surviving are her children John Huffman Jr. of Newport Beach, CA, Miriam Rockness of Mt. Dora, FL; Grandchildren, Carla Rowland, Janet Price, David Rockness, Kimberly Wood, Jonathan Rockness and 16 great-grandchildren.
