Dorothy J. "Dori" Coder, age 87, a resident of Windsor Park in Carol Stream, Illinois, died Thursday, February 9, 2017, at Windsor's Johnson Health Care Center. She was born February 5, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan, to Leslie Winkler and Ada (Sanders) Thornton.

"Dolly", as she was called in her younger years, was married to Eugene E. "Gene" Coder for 54 years. Gene's occupation was in commercial paper sales, and Dori was a homemaker. After Dori and Gene were married, she left Detroit and then moved many times, having lived in Chester PA, Mobile AL, East Brunswick NJ, Charlotte NC, Tucker GA, Naperville IL, Indianapolis IN, Concord MA, Fitchburg MA, Montville NJ, and then spending 28 years in Doylestown PA. Dori's final move was to Illinois to be near her son David. While Doylestown was "home", Dori's favorite location was Indianapolis where many of her neighbors became lifelong friends.

Dori is survived by her son David Coder and daughter-in-law Kathryn Coder, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Gene in 2011.

Interment for both Dorothy and Eugene Coder will be at George Washington Memorial Park, Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania.
