Obituary
Dorothea Grace Haaning, age 87, a resident of Windsor Park Manor in Carol Stream, died Monday, September 19 at the Johnson Healthcare Center at Windsor Park Manor. She was born in Chicago on April 13, 1918 to Horace and Grace Winnie.
Dorothea was raised in Chicago, where she sang in the choir of Second Baptist Church. She worked at the Victor Gasket Company and then the YMCA of Chicago as a Secretary. She was a former resident of Elmhurst and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elmhurst. In recent years she has attended Faith Baptist Church in Winfield.
Mrs. Haaning is survived by her one son, Douglas Peterson of Carol Stream, one step-daughter, Bonnie H. (Stephen) Oliver of Elmhurst, and a step-granddaughter, Linnea Oliver of Chicago.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Donald Peterson and Thorvald Christen Haaning and her parents.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 20, from 2 until 8 P.M. at the Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton, where services will be held on Wednesday at 10 A.M. with Rev. Don Jones officiating.
Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park in Northlake.
