On Monday, August 24, 2015, Doris Loreen Wisner, a resident of Norridge, Illinois for 21 years, went to be with the Lord and Savior she faithfully served throughout her life. She was 87 years old and had congestive heart failure. She was born June 17, 1928 in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Canada to Frieda (Dickau) and Rudolph Hammer and grew up in Wetaskiwin until she moved to Chicago, Illinois in 1949.

Doris graduated from Wetaskiwin High School in 1946. While visiting her Aunt Minnie Pankratz in Chicago during the summer of 1947 she met Paul C. Wisner and married him on September 3, 1949. They lived on the South Side of Chicago for five years and moved to Valparaiso, Indiana in 1958 where they lived until 1967. They then moved to South Holland, Illinois and lived there for fifteen years before moving to Schaumburg, Illinois. After Paul's death in February of 1984, Doris moved to Norridge, Illinois and relocated in 2009 to Central Baptist Village in Norridge where she died.

Doris was actively involved in church in each community where she lived most recently attending The Branch Community Church (originally Foster Avenue Baptist Church) until physical limitations affected her mobility. She was active in Sunday School, ladies groups and the choir.

In addition to Paul, Doris' parents, sisters Erna (Krause) and Vivian (Pruden) and brother Rubin Hammer all predeceased her. She is survived by her daughter Karen Archard (Gavin), son Douglas (Maureen) and grandchildren Melissa, Jeffrey and Stephen.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Central Baptist Village , 4747 North Canfield Avenue, Norridge, Illinois, with a reception following for the family to greet friends and relatives. Interment at New Troy Cemetery in New Troy, Michigan will be private.
