Doris Ann White, nee Hartman, age 77, a resident of Wheaton since 1976, died Friday, May 8, 2009 at home after many year of Lupas and respiratory illness. She was born on August 3, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois to Benjamin and Hilda Jacobson Hartman.
In 1950 she graduated from St. Charles High School. Doris worked for Illinois Bell Telephone Company for 20 years as an information and dial service operator. She was a member of Wheaton Wesleyan Church. She was also involved with the Wheaton Senior Walkers "the Hoffers", The Red Hat Society, and was a faithful volunteer with Youth For Christ. She enjoyed travel and trips with the Wheaton Seniors.
She is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth A. Hunt of Wheaton, Ruth E. (Robert) Hunt Stencel of Hoffman Estates, and Doreen H. Hunt Farrell of Wheaton, and one grandchild, Aaron C. Farrell of Winfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John S. White, formerly of Durham, England, and her parents.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 11, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton, where a funeral service will follow at 8:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Ridgewood Cemetery in DesPlaines on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m.
