Doris M. Polk's Obituary
Doris M. Polk, age 85, a resident of Glendale Heights, IL, died Sunday, June 12, 2011 in her home surrounded by family. She was born June 4, 1926 at Norwegian-American Hospital in Chicago, IL.
A 1944 graduate of Steinmetz High School, Doris married Marvin H. Polk April 25, 1959. Together they raised two children. Doris enjoyed cooking, baking and sewing and was actively involved in the Addison Bible church for many years. While primarily a homemaker, after her children were grown she went to work in the reception and vault area of First Star Bank in Glen Ellyn.
She is survived by daughter, Patricia (Laura Marriotti) Vosejpka of Glendale Heights, IL; son, Timothy (Naomi Ashley) Polk of Chicago, IL; brother, Donald (Merna) Yehling; cousin, Faith Gerber; and many loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin H. Polk.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service to be held at 11:00 a.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton, IL. Interment will follow at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst, IL.
Memorial gifts may be directed to the family; or to the American Diabetes Association, 30 N. Michigan Ave., Suite 2015, Chicago, IL 60602.
