Doris L. Wollert Kolar, age 97, a lifelong resident of Wheaton, IL, passed away June 12, 2018, at Belmont Village in Carol Stream, Illinois. She was born January 21, 1921 in Wheaton to Fred and Lillian Brown.
Doris grew up in Wheaton and attended Lowell Grade School and graduated from Wheaton Community High School. She went on to business school and then worked as a secretary in Chicago offices. She met Harry Wollert in a bowling league and they were married October 9, 1948.
They enjoyed square dancing and traveled to dancing events. She raised two children in Wheaton. In 1976, Harry passed away. Doris worked at E-G Home Center in Carol Stream, where she met Frank Kolar. They were married in 1978.
She enjoyed traveling the world. She volunteered her time at Wise Penny Resale Shop and also as an election judge. She was a life long member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wheaton. She was an avid Chicago Blackhawks fan.
She is survived by her son, Brandt (Kathy) Wollert of Wayne, daughter, Sharon Kaminski of Glendale Heights, grandchildren, Kortney and Stacey Wollert and Ryan and Brandon Kaminski, great-grandson Cody Kaminski, one sister, Betty (Tom) Justie of Wheaton and nephews Kevin (Julie) and Keith (Jeannie) Justie.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harry Wollert and Frank Kolar.
A visitation will be held on Monday, June 18, 2018 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, where a funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst, Illinois.
