Doris L. Hansen, age 95, a resident of Windsor Park in Carol Stream, died April 18, 2020, at Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Illinois. The middle child of Samuel and Florence Faircloth, she was born October 31, 1924, in Aurora, Illinois.

Doris graduated from West Aurora High in 1942, and The Chicago Academy of Fine Arts two years later. Using her art degree, she became a designer in packaging and window display at the parent company of Sears Roebuck, where she met her husband, George, the love of her life, and they were married December 12, 1947. They had four children, and Doris was an incredible wife and mother.

Doris was a woman who loved God, her family, and her country. She was a member of Wheaton Bible Church. She volunteered in transport at Central Dupage Hospital, was an instructor for Crossroads Prison Ministries, and served in many capacities in her churches throughout the years. Doris was an amazing cook and baker, known for her family dinners, cherry pies, butterhorn rolls, and cinnamon coffee cake. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, and playing the piano.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, George H. Hansen in 1970, her daughter Carol Jean in 1960, and her sister, Jean Johnson in 2015. She is survived by her children: Linda Dee (Roger), Roy Hansen (Jannene), and Dawn Zemke (Ronald). Doris was blessed with six grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Samuel Faircloth and Richard Faircloth, and a sister, Miriam Peterson.

A private graveside service will be held at Lincoln Memorial Park in Aurora, Illinois, on April 22, 2020. A memorial service to celebrate Doris's life will be held at a later date.
