Obituary

Doris Fisher, age 79, a resident of Aurora formerly of Wheaton, died Friday, November 21,at Edward Hospital in Naperville. She was born on November 28, 1928 in DuBois, PA to Leroy and Rachel Sholes.

Doris received a Bachelors Degree from Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, NY in 1957. ON June 23, 1956 she married David Fisher. In 1963 they joined Trans World Radio and served on fields in Monaco, Swaziland and Guam. They returned to the states in 1978 and moved to Wheaton to work with Slavic Gospel Association.

She enjoyed playing the piano and organ and singing in the church. She hosted a children's radio program called "Gospel Train."

She is survived by her husband, David, three children, Louise (Scott) Palmer of Concord, NH, Joy (John) Hazucha of Edina, MN, and Paul (Nancy) Fisher of Elkhorn, WI, nine grandchildren and one brother, Jesse Sholes.

She was preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 30 at 3:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 1310 N. Main St. in Wheaton, with visitation from 2 until 3 pm. Interment will be held privately at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights, IL.
