Doris M. Blickle, age 87, a resident of Wheaton, IL, died Thursday, January 7, 2016, at Wynscape Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wheaton, IL. She was born September 11, 1928 in Mount Carmel, PA.

She was a graduate of Valparaiso University with a major in English Literature. She started a career as a teacher in a one room schoolhouse in central Illinois. She left teaching to raise her family and then returned later to teaching and a career in Library Science in the Wheaton School District. She was a big Cubs fan, loved animals and conservation, the city of Wheaton, and her community.

She is survived by her children, Alayne (Matthew Livengood) Blickle of Nampa, ID, and Frederick Blickle III of Emeryville, CA; four grandchildren, Frederick W. (fiance' Gretchen Pace, Captain US Army) Blickle, IV, Captain, US Army, Broderick Zelez Blickle, John G. Blickle (Lieutenant, US Army) and Henry H. Blickle; her sister, Elizabeth (Rev. Bernard) Nass; her nieces, Dr. Lisa (Dee Schriver) Nass, Christa (Jim) Ogilvy; her great nieces and nephews, Catherine Elizabeth Ogilvy, Caralyn Marie Oglivy and James William Ogilvy, III; and her former daughter-in-law, Laura Kelley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick W. Blickle, Jr (died in 1996).

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church , 410 N. Cross St, in Wheaton, IL. A memorial visitation will be held at 4:00 p.m. at Anderson Auditorium at the Wyndemere Retirement Community, 200 Wyndemere Circle, in Wheaton, IL. Interment will be private.
