Dora F. Karwoski, 95, of Boone passed away on January 28, 2017 at the Eastern Star Masonic Home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at the
First Evangelical Free Church
in Boone. Burial will be in the Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois.
Dora Frances Karwoski was born in Wheaton, Illinois on November 18, 1921, the daughter of Floyd and Jeannette (Dille) Cox. She graduated from Wheaton Community High School in 1939. Dora married Marion Karwoski in Muskogee, Oklahoma on January 23, 1943, they recently celebrated their 74th wedding anniversary.
While raising four children Dora stayed active in her church and community. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Deaconess at her Church and a member of the Christian Women's Club. Dora also volunteered with the Boone County Historical Association, helping with Tours of Maimie Eisenhowers birthplace.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Floyd Cox; one son, Dennis; one daughter, Jeannette and one son-in-law, Don Green. Dora is survived by her husband, Marion; one son, George (Sandi) Karwoski of Boone; one daughter, Linda Green of Auburn Hills, Michigan; daughter-in-law, Jan Karwoski of Wheaton, IL one son-in-law, Phil Rehlander of Dallas, TX, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the
Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel
, at Sixth and Marshall on Monday, January 30 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The family will be present from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Another memorial service for friends and family will be in Wheaton, Illinois on Saturday, February 4 at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service. Graveside services will be at the Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois.
