Donna M. Kovanda, age 88, of Wyndemere in Wheaton, formerly of Cicero and Naperville, died July 17, at Central Dupage Hospital in Winfield, IL. She was born March 14, 1920 in Athens, Ohio to Merwin and Mabel Mansfield.
In her youth, Donna enjoyed playing sports and remained an avid sports fan. She loved animals. Donna was outgoing and loved helping people. Family was the most important part of her life. She was a wonderful grandmother attending all of their sporting events.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Joseph, her children Carol(Mark Ludvigson)Kovanda and Gary(Jeanne) Kovanda, her grandchildren Gregory and Stephanie Kovanda; her twin brother, Donald(Selma)Mansfield of Athens, OH and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Dr. Helen Robinson Jobe, and a brother Paul (Edith) Mansfield.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 20, at 3:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton, 715 N. Carlton Ave. Interment will take place in Athens, OH. Memorials to the American Cancer Society 1801 S. Meyers Rd., Oakbrook Terrace would be appreciated.
