With deep respect and loving remembrance, we announce the passing of Donald Wines, who left us on August 2, 2026. Donald was born on October 9, 1934, in St. Louis. Over more than nine decades, his life was marked by dedication to family, commitment to service, and a kind-hearted presence that touched many.

Donald’s early years were rooted in his hometown of St. Louis, where he graduated from Beaumont High School and then attended Harris-Stowe State University.

Donald bravely answered the call to serve his country as a member of the Naval Air Reserve. His service was a source of pride for both himself and his family, underscoring the values that would guide his actions throughout his life.

Among Donald’s happiest achievements was the joy and companionship found in his beloved dogs. His love for animals revealed a tender and nurturing side, one that endeared him to those around him and brought warmth to his home.

Donald is deeply mourned by his loving wife, Susan Ann Wines, whose steadfast presence was a cornerstone of their shared journey. He leaves behind a devoted family who cherish his memory: daughters Dyan Cochran and Sheryl Strange, sons Donnie Wines Jr. and Scott Maples, and grandchildren Conor Maples, Doug Cochran, Dylan Cochran, Shawn Duncan Sr., Michelle Wines, Jenny Wines, and Chris Hansen. Donald’s legacy endures in each of them, in cherished memories and family traditions.

Donald is preceded in death by his daughter Kristyne Jasenowski, his father Ralph Wines, and his mother Gladys Dempsey. Their memories are held gently in the hearts of those who loved them.

Visitation will be held on August 11, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hultgren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 304 N Main St, Wheaton, IL. A Mass in honor of Donald’s life will take place on August 12, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Michael Catholic Church, 310 South Wheaton Avenue, Wheaton, IL. Inurnment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 1S510 Winfield Rd, Wheaton, IL.

Donald Wines will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His warmth, integrity, and love for his family leave a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire and guide all those who loved him.
