Donald Ernest White was born in Chicago on November 11, 1934, to Ernest and Catherine (nee Kuklinski) White. He lived in Chicago and Arizona as a child before settling with his parents in Villa Park, Illinois.
Don graduated from York High School, Moody Bible Institute and Wheaton College. He married Sherry Dausey of Chicago in 1957. From 1958-1960 he served in the United States Army, mostly in Germany, with the 3rd Armored Division as chaplain's assistant. He then was in the army reserves in the Chicago area and had the rank of Specialist 5.
Don accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at age eight and felt God was calling him to missions at 12 years old. In 1966, he and Sherry and their four children went to Austria with Greater Europe Mission to serve in church planting. The couple spent 38 years in Austria, and after their retirement served short-term in Austria and Czech Republic.
Don loved to teach from the Bible, jogging, collecting old-especially European-paper money, etchings and bric-a-brac, and eating cookies. In his later years, as his Parkinson's disease stopped him from jogging, he took up bowling with a group of senior men.
Don is survived by his wife, Sherry; sons Daniel, Timothy (Jennifer), and James (Jill); and daughter Deborah (Gregory) Nichols. The seven living grandchildren are Jonah, Nicolas, Connor, Jeremy, Selina, Katya and Marika.
He is now with his mother and father and grandson Colton in heaven.
