Obituary

Donald Kingsley Fleming passed away September 19, 2019 at age 87 after being married to Justine for 62 years.

Don (also known as DK) was a native of Glen Ellyn born May 3, 1932 and a Glenbard West graduate. Don received a degree in engineering from Northwestern University and worked for many years as a chemical engineer. He held numerous patents on related inventions and traveled the world advising on scientific/engineering projects. He was particularly proud of having worked on the crew developing the Blue Flame, at one time the vehicle holding the land speed world record.

After he retired he enjoyed studying genealogy, researching the physics behind wind chimes and building many chimes, and working in his garage, lawn, home workshop and laboratory.

Finally, all who knew Don knew of his love for cars and in particular his passion for Corvettes, which for many years he purchased, worked on, drove, and sold, ultimately owning and enjoying over 20 versions of the model in his lifetime.

A private burial was held at Forest Hill Cemetery in Glen Ellyn.
