Dominic A. Cilla, age 99.5, a longtime resident of Wheaton, IL, died on January 11, 2023.  He was born July 21, 1923, in LaSalle, IL to Micheal and Mary, nee Festa, Cilla.

Dom grew up in LaSalle where he was active in Boy Scouts and where he graduated high school.  He then enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps. He served in England for three years during WWII.  He married Ann in 1948, in Chicago and they were married for 63 years.  In 1950, he began to build his own home in Wheaton where he lived for the rest of his life. He was a well-known and loved plumber and craftsman.

He loved playing golf and bowling. He had a strong Christian faith and was a strong Bible scholar.  He was an active member of Compass Church in Wheaton (Wheaton Evangelical Free Church) where he volunteered thousands of hours in service. For 40 years he served as an Awana Clubs leader mentoring young men.

He is survived by his daughters, Deborah (Howard) Glaser, and Diane (Raymond) Cilla Johnson, and five grandchildren, Michael (Jan) Hnilica, T.J. (Angela) Hnilica, Jill Fletcher, Ken (Laura) Johnson and Kristina (Kyle) Getty. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, Sophia, Isabella, Caleb, Kaylee, Skyler, Evelyn, and Willow, his sister Connie (the late Lou) Strom, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann, his parents, and two sisters, Mena (the late Charles) Rounds, and Gert (the late Norman) Forney.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023, from 9:30 to 10:30 at Compass Church, Wheaton Campus, 520 E.
