Domingo Martinez De Valdivielso, age 85, of Carol Stream, Illinois passed away peacefully in the early hours of August 25th 2025.

Domingo was born November 4th 1939 in Matanzas, Cuba. From a young age, he worked and supported himself as a Mechanic. He married his wife Celia in 1960 and welcomed 3 sons and a daughter in the years following. In 1970 he and his family migrated to the United States in pursuit of a brighter future. While dedicating 42 years to working at General Mills, he also had an entrepreneurial spirit. He operated multiple small businesses ranging from jewelry to real estate.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Celia; his children Milagro, Noel, Omar and Susie; his grandchildren Alan, Jason, Taylor, Kyle, Yarima; great grandchildren Roybel, Roydel, Laila, Kennison, Hendrix, Heston, Aliana, Aylett and Dominic.

He was preceded in death by his son Carlos; his siblings Jose De Valdivielso, Laura L. Martinez De Valdivielso and Maria Josefina De Valdivielso.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL 60187. A final viewing will be held at the funeral home on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. before proceeding to Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton for the entombment.

Domingo nació el 4 de noviembre de 1939 en Matanzas, Cuba. Desde muy joven trabajó y se mantuvo por sí mismo como mecánico. En 1960 contrajo matrimonio con su esposa Celia, y en los años siguientes dieron la bienvenida a tres hijos y una hija. En 1970, él y su familia emigraron a los Estados Unidos en busca de un futuro más prometedor. Durante 42 años dedicados a trabajar en General Mills, también mantuvo un espíritu emprendedor, llegando a operar varios pequeños negocios que abarcaron desde joyería hasta bienes raíces.

Le sobreviven su esposa de 65 años, Celia; sus hijos Milagro, Noel, Omar y Susie; sus nietos Alan, Jason, Kyle y Yarima; así como sus bisnietos Roybel, Roydel, Laila, Kennison, Hendrix, Heston, Aliana, Aylett y Dominic.

Le precedieron en la muerte su hijo Carlos; y sus hermanos José De Valdivielso, Laura L. Martínez De Valdivielso y María Josefina De Valdivielso.

El velorio se llevará a cabo el jueves 28 de agosto de 2025, de 3:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m., en Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL 60187. La última vista se realizará en la funeraria el viernes 29 de agosto de 2025, a las 11:00 a.m., antes de proceder al Cementerio Assumption en Wheaton para la inhumación.
