Diane S. Mook, age 88, a longtime resident of Wheaton, IL, died Saturday, July 2, 2022, at home.  She was born September 13, 1933, in Tamaqua, PA.

Diane graduated from Tamaqua High School in 1951.  She received her R.N. from the Reading Hospital School of Nursing and went on to graduate magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

She met David Mook at the University of Pennsylvania, and they were married on January 23, 1960.  She worked at several hospitals in Pennsylvania and Illinois including Central DuPage Hospital, where she was from 1978 until 2002. After retirement she volunteered at the Peoples Resource Center in Wheaton for 12 years.

She supported her sons by attending their sports events from little league through high school.  She was an avid bridge player (Life Master), reader, and knitter.  And she was an active member of St. Matthew United Church of Christ where she served on countless committees, helped establish a preschool program, and was president of the council.

She is survived by her husband, David Mook, two sons, David (Kathy Stodgell) Mook, and Dean (Jen) Mook, and three granddaughters, Lizz, Nina and Devyn Mook. She was preceded in death by her son, Drew Mook, and her parents, Henry and Elva Seip.

A memorial service will be held at St. Matthew United Church of Christ in Wheaton on Saturday, August 20 at 11:00 a.m.  Friends may visit with the family from 10:30 until 11:00 and following the service.
