Obituary

Diane Christopherson, age 81, a resident of Winfield, IL, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, surrounded by her family and friends.

Diane Christopherson was truly an exceptional woman, a devoted wife, and a loving mother. She was a powerful example of a Proverbs 31 wife and mother, who always nurtured, prayed, and generously helped those around her. She was a source of wisdom and strength for so many. Her unwavering faith and love impacted the lives of everyone around her which will continue to bring comfort and hope to those who knew her.

Diane was born on October 3, 1941 to Edmund and Laura Carroll in New Rochelle, New York. In 1959, she graduated from Wheaton Central High School and met her soulmate, Ken Christopherson, while working weekends at a local grocery store. Diane and Ken married two years later in 1961 and shared 62 wonderful years together in a loving marriage admired by many.

Diane began her journey as a devoted stay-at-home mother in 1962 when her first child was born and continued this journey for nine additional children. She made multi-tasking look easy as she filled the role of chef, event planner, teacher, housekeeper, chauffeur, counselor, mediator, school volunteer and nurse. Despite the demands of caring for a large family, Diane also made sure she was an active member of Calvary Church as her faith was the cornerstone of her life. She served as nursery director, sang in the choir, participated in the Women's Group and led bible studies at her home.

Her other passions included spending summers in Door County Wisconsin, boating, reading, going for long walks, traveling and making memories with her family.

Diane Christopherson leaves behind a loving and devoted family. She is survived by her beloved husband, Ken Christopherson, and nine children - Ken (Marie) Christopherson, Kerrie Schlenker, Karol (John) Peters, Keith (Patti) Christopherson, Kevin (Julia) Christopherson, Kathy (Jon) Jablonka, Kurt (Lisa) Christopherson, Kyle (Julie) Christopherson, and Kendel (Deanna) Christopherson. Diane had a special bond with her twenty-two grandchildren – Bethany, Kristen, Josiah, Bradley, Cody, Miranda, Marisa, Kara, Alena, Eric, Rachel, Faith, Jacob, Carol Marie, Jared, Kayla, Kassandra, Kallie, Anna, Kraig, Kaitlyn, Shiloh and four great-grandchildren – Landon, Sophia, Noah and Lenna - whom she loved very much. Diane will also be missed by her five siblings, Patricia (Dennis) Van Milligen, Edmund (the late Patricia) Carroll, Richard (Mary Pat) Carroll, Ellen (Steve) George and Judi (Mike) Theriault and many nieces and nephews. Diane was predeceased by her parents, Edmund and Laura Carroll, and her son, Kraig Michael Christopherson.

Diane leaves an enduring mark on the world and is a true inspiration of God's love, kindness, and grace. Her family and friends will miss her more than words can say but they will draw strength from the shining example that she was, and through the knowledge that she now rests in peace with the Lord.

A funeral service will be held in the chapel at Calvary Church, 9s200 Illinois Rte . 59, Naperville, IL 60564, on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at 11:00 AM .
